Wesley Walker

That guy right there in front of the Blackhawk helicopter is me, Wes Walker. That was a small perk I recently got to enjoy as a California Air National Guardsman. I spent six years active duty Air Force, but transfered to the Guard in favor of a career outside the military.

I now work at a NASA facility called Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, a city where I both work and live. JPL is an exciting place to work, where the space missions are always on the cutting edge of space exploration. Some of our more popular missions include:

  • Mars Exploration Rover - Robots, Spirit and Opportunity, have been roaming the surface of Mars since 2004
  • Cassini - Most robust study of Saturn's rings
  • Spitzer Space Telescope - Working in conjunction with the Hubble Space Telescope to uncover distant worlds and galaxies.
  • Voayager 1 - Currently the most distant man made object in space still collecting data.

When I am not working I enjoy mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I'm ready to get my college degree knocked out, as I have been idle on this for about ten years now. It's time to get moving, and a BSIT at Northeastern University is the way I'm going to do it!
